Practice makes perfect, don’t you agree? After such a long break from this personal diary of mine, I hope the flow of language is still there. This holiday was indeed a meaningful one, full of surprises each day. Just a simple recall what I did throughout the sem break:
May 2008, Week 3
Mon - Visit to the dentist for braces and buy Joyce’s laptop at Sunway Pyramid.
Tues - Loads of housework, as I would feel guilty as I cannot contribute much the following days.
Wed - Went to Setapak with Joyce to clean up her hostel, Joyce straighten her hair in Sungai Wang and I got a new haircut. This experience reminds me those days we had in hostel, the Kutu Malam Gang, Count Down in hostel and pillow talks…
Thurs - Meet up with secondary school friends (Su Yin, Kar Yee, Huey Fen, Yin Lih and Peck Yee) in The Curve, four-hour karaoke in Redbox. Met up with Peck Yee, missed her since 2004, but she revealed her wonderful “voice box” that morning. Missed such a gathering since leaving CHS, as I’m always the “Missing in Action” one…
Fri - Venue set-up and rehearsal for RCM. The script seems didn’t really work well, as the MCs got “M16” from Kai Ma. Thank God for answering my prayer, someone provided me transport back… Later part of the day was in church, as ADC for Ps Joanne Geerling, she’s a woman I’d really respect, and her words are full of encouragement and a passions shines from within. A great beginning for the night by Ps Paul Geerling:” Now is the Time”. One verse that struck me: “I am responsible for my generation!!!”
Sat - The second and third session with Ps Paul continues in church the whole evening. “Freedom” and “What’s in a mira cle” were the topics he shared… “freedom begins with a choice”, don’t you agree? No duty for the day, but was my pleasure to train Brian and Wan Ling as ADCs.
Sun - Got up at 630a.m., ADC for the 1st service… Sunday school for second service, therefore, I’ve got 2 sets of clothes to wear for the day… Family dinner in One Utama, mum’s favourite Japanese food n mother’s day gift, plus she managed to buy her shoes, Baskin Robbins as dessert…should be a wonderful time spent as a family…
May 2008, week 4
Mon - Today’s a religious public holiday, Wesak Day… Dad, mum and Joyce went out to get shoes for dad, as they’re going overseas, again… Joyce got another pair of shoes… Recalling back, dad promised me to get me a pair of boots on my 18th birthday. And the moral of the story is, do what you’ve promised, especially to children. Mum’s home cook food is the favourite food of all children… After dinner, we had family altar, and there I went back to Sungai LongDropped by June’s house, taught her for the next day paper, and didn’t know I’ll still remember what I’ve studied till now… And there goes the night, home alone in sungai Long.
Tues - The first day of the RCM. A bad example, as I was late… What a bad example… We had registration and Admin Briefing for the day… Registration was messy as only two counters were allocated, then we set-up an additional one to cope with the crowd. Thanks to Li Mun and her team, they were indeed a great help. Admin Briefing proceeds and last minute the campus tour slides were not in place… Backup plan was an impromptu speech… The helpers were a bit disorganized, as they gather around the door... However, lunch with my team was a good one indeed… We had Hong Kong food in Jusco, I was really quiet during the lunch and seemed this surprised them a lot. If you’ll ask me, I’m not satisfied with the performance for the day, I’d do better if given a second chance… But I’d really thank my team, as all of us tried our best…
Wed - Second day with Mass Call, HOD briefing n PTPTN briefing. Guess what, once again I’d take the blame to myself for the mess made. The MC script did not tally with the seating, technical helpers were not attentive with the slides, last minute call off of Integrity Talk… I wonder, was it a mistake that I take lead for this team… However, words of comfort came from my team members… Thanks, William, for being there; I couldn’t imagine if you were not there to help us in this event… However, the “M16” from kai ma made us learn from mistake. “Pro-active” and “teamwork” is the keyword given by kai ma… Another regret, didn’t take much pictures during the event… Not even one 全家幅… Anyway, we’ll take the remaining ones in the coming dinner… Were happy we gained friendship through this event, and learn lots through this event… I caught a cold on the journey home with public transport… and all I need was rest…
Thurs - Great day ahead… Housework in the morning, and a lesson on sushi by Sa Kim… enjoyed the fellowship with her… Met new friend, Tim Tim (a dog)… The rest of the day was spent in front of the computer, doing the report for SRC, RCM and my resume…
Time flies, it’s almost the end of the holidays… The word of the day that inspired me “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say… Rejoice!!!” I’m going to extract my wisdom tooth later part of the evening, and some other financial report to settle…
