A continous three-days of dehidration

Tuesday, 8/5/08

Despite the increase in inflation, how could Malaysians "shop till drop"? I have no idea… I started the day with a morning call from dad… Then the cycle begins, not in Sungai Long, but in Puchong. Breakfast with the most important man in my life (at least for now, I admit) and sis. Next station, IOI Mall, with the legendary “J Card Day”… After continuous three-days greeting this retailer, I’m saying “hi” again, after Cheras Selatan and Mid Valley. No doubts on their promotional strategy, at least according to my last study on Jusco last Y2S1, for the Marketing paper.

No comments on the amount of people, “amazed”, all I could say. The first thing that caught my sight was the muffin at RM1, (but after taking it as my lunch, the taste was disappointing, as mass production do not always guarantee satisfactory), then shirts caught our attention. No regrets going early, as the best is saved for the first, “the rat race”, sounds familiar in shopping spree … “Grab all you can” is the motto for the day, I guess… 1 thing I observed, people seems to apply their natural gesture, some just rushing, grab without caring much of charisma…

Another area which considered a fruit of the trip today, a round of applause for all the hard work of promoters, cashiers, they are indeed an impressive team. It brought remembrance to three people in my life, Aunty Irene, Aunty Persis and Pastor Joshua. They were the ones that reminded me to respect others that serve us, with 2 real life examples, the two women mentioned prior to this. As I greeted promoters with respect, somehow, in return, you’ll receive great service. In addition to this, praise them for the hard work, it makes the day great for both parties.

Spending the last eight hours in the same mall, it’s indeed an experience. How then could you make your day a productive one? Thanks to Will, he’s indeed one who makes me think. I started to plan and write down how I’m going to spend the rest of the holiday. So great hopes for the coming holidays, at least not merely housework and tv programs… One regret, did not manage to grab things for mum. Congrates to her success in passing her PTK exams, she deserves great things, Cheers!!! And the keyword to it was leaning to rest in Christ. Mum admitted she did not do much in studies, but one prayer that really works for her, is the Hebrew prayer “prayer in past tense”.

Coming back to the story, what’s plans for the holiday? Chatting with some other friends on the net, I realize not all are planners. I’ll spend the rest of this week doing Eunice’s project. Next Mon, I’ll see the dentist, and get Joyce her first labtop. A trip back KTAR for cleaning up Joyce’s hostel and her hairdo, continued with Orientation Rehearsal, Paul Geerling – the end of week 2. Week 3 continues with Orientation and “back to Uni”. What else in the checklist, need some time for arrangement…
